7-minute Scientific Workout Timer App Reviews

i love this app!!

The best rep app! Easy to follow and awesome results, if you have the will power

Love it!!

Realistic workouts that are challenging. Easy to remain motivated and adjustable if needed.

Buggy

1. Doesnt work with screen off. So if you want to listen to music with your phone in your pocket, tough luck. 2. Restarts whenever the screen rotates. 3. No feedback about whats coming up next, so youre starting blind at the beginning of each exercise. 4. The side plan portion doesnt have and indication about when to switch sides.

Slick, but needs more features

Like the design, automated flow, and voice...but could you please add an option for a 3 second pause before advancing each step? The app starts abruptly, and each break is not long enough to get out of, rest, and into the next position. A heads up to the next exercise during the break would be awesome so you can get ready. Thanks!

Good concept, needs more

Needs to preview what exercise is next so you can get into position. Needs an overview screen to explain the swipe operation. Side plank on just one side? Strange. I do like the ease of use. Great idea to just squeeze in 7 minutes of exercise. More programs or target area options needed or this will get redundant very quickly.

First fitness app!

This app is the very first fitness app Ive gotten, and i instantly fell in love with it! (Then quickly started to hate it, lol) but really, if you constantly have a tight schedule, this is the app for you!

Good Idea, but...

This was an excellent idea but the execution needs some serious work. There is no way to know what is coming next, so instead of doing a leg-up I spend 5 minutes running around my apartment trying to find a chair... Maybe give users an option to see the workout plan before starting, or to use the resting time as time to find a chair, wall, etc. As others have mentioned, it resets when the screen shifts; not fun when your cat decides to give the iPad some love mid-workout. The work outs are thorough, and the whole seven minute thing really motivated me because the goal wasnt set to an unrealistic height.

Work In Progress

This is great tool for people trying to fit a quick activity to get the heart rate up and get the metabolism going. There should be a disclaimer or explanation about the side plank and step-up exercises. Note that you need to alternate the side you perform the side-plank on. Additionally, step-up needs to be alternating as well. Beginners would benefit from this. Great design!

Wonderful app

Love this app but one feedback: have them randomly change every time I ope that app so I dont have to know when its about to end cos I know whats going to be next

good job

please update the app with animation of workouts instead of images.

Voice

When i plug my ipod into my speaker, i still barley hear the voice from the app. Other than that one flaw, it is a great app. Please increase the volume of the voice.

Timer is wrong

The workout presented is supposed to be at 30 second intervals with 10 seconds of rest. The timer for each exercise for this app is set at 25 seconds.

Excellent app, great design!

Works well, breaks a sweat if you do it right! One improvement already made the list, upcoming exercise until I memorize it. Another one that didnt make the list is possibly a calendar of some sort that shows the days you worked out.

Office workout!

Just enough to get the blood flowing each morning. Would be better if able to use off screen.

Good but could be better

It is a good app and almost there. Here are the four suggestions in order of importance. 1. During break announce next exercise 2. Have a video someone can pause the exercise and then watch if they do not know how to properly perform the exercise. 3. Audio feedback, counting down last 5 seconds of each workout. 4. Make it random

Please add...

What exercise is coming next during the 10 second break so I can get into position. Thanks!

Good stuff!

Motivates me in the morning!

Awkward

Start immediately right when you open, which is awkward. Also incorrectly does 25 seconds for each exercise, when the scientific paper says 30 seconds for each exercise.

Good app

I really like this app! I use it daily as a warm-up. My only complaint is that I wish it would say what the next exercise is at the end of each break. I waste seconds each time getting ready for the exercise. I havent been using it that long, so Im sure Ill memorize the order, but it would have been especially nice to know the order when I first started.

Disappointing.

I was excited to see an app for the 7 minute workout, but this one is unusable. Every time my screen rotates, the app restarts the time for that exercise. It wont let me play music. It stops if I try to dim the screen to save battery. It only provides time for one side of the side plank. It does not let you know what exercise is coming up next, so that you will be ready when the time starts. Also, when I tried to use the app, it skipped several exercises, but I dont know why! (I think it had something to do with the screen rotating.) Too bad, because its pretty, and I want to do this workout.
